Below is a note from our client about what type of INFECTIOUS DISEASE cases are available
in the service area. The primary service area population is 100,000 and the
secondary is 180,000.
"Blood born pathogens are the biggest issue here. Lots of Hepatitis C -200 new cases per year, some Hepatitis B and A. Hep A comes from HIV
drug population. Needle exchange program was underground in the 90's, funded by county commissioners in 2000. That began to bring cases
down. We have about 45-50 HIV cases in the county. 3 cases of TB. We don't have an ID person in our community so that training and interest would be a plus".
